Youth Group– It’s time for our annual Youth Group Kickoff! Wednesday, August 27th here at the church at 630 pm we’re gonna hang out, play games, learn the word, and eat! Anyone from 6th grade through college is invited. Come see Phil if you have any questions.

 

Youth Group Help– Phil is looking for volunteers to make food for Youth Group. Each youth group meeting will have a small dinner or snack for the kids, if you’d like to sign up there’s a sheet in the Narthex. Thank you!

 

Meetings this week– Finance will be meeting on Tuesday at 6 pm which will be followed by the Council meeting at 7 pm. Please get your reports in to Phil as soon as possible!

 

UMW– Our September meeting will be on the 2nd at 1 pm in the Fellowship Hall. Bring your lunch and we’ll provide beverages and dessert. Come see what we do and find out what UMW is all about. Try us, you will like it!!

 

Makeup and Dessert- UMW is hosting “Makeup and Dessert” in Fellowship Hall at 1:00 p.m. on September 20th.  Mary Kay representatives (Ann Carlson’s daughter and granddaughter) will present products for both men and women. See what the new colors are and how you can make your skin, lips, and nails shimmer! Make a change for Fall! And, of course, it’s never too early to think about Christmas gifts. Join us for “Makeup and Dessert” – a signup sheet is in the narthex. This is a fundraiser; the church will receive a percentage of all sales. So, bring your family, friends, and neighbors.

  

Hearts Afire- The first choir rehearsal for Hearts Afire will be Thursday, August 21st from 6:00-7:00 PM.  If you love to sing, please consider joining us!  We laugh, have fun, and make beautiful music together! If you are interested in joining the choir, please see Jennifer Herrington.

 

Phantom Trimmer– Thank you from the lawn care team to the Phantom Trimer who trimmed up the church’s shrubs. It is greatly appreciated.

 

Bible Study– We’re kicking back up this Wednesday from 10 to 11:30 am. Everyone is invited to study the Word.

 

Co-ed Cornhole– It’s the last chance to upset our champs! Monday, September 8th at 6:30 pm.

 

Church Mice– Linda Vota is looking for volunteers to be church mice this upcoming school year. Please contact Linda or sign-up in the Narthex to help make our college aged kids get a little taste of home. We’re also taking signups for kids as well. So if you’re a parent or grandparent of a college aged kid there are signups in the Narthex.

 

SAVE THE DATE– Sewing with a Purpose will be next month on Saturday, September 6th, from 10 am to 2 pm. Both sewers and non-sewers are invited! bring your sewing machines/sewing tools, and white thread and bobbin.  The kits for dresses and aprons will be provided. Non sewing people bring bag lunch, a smile and a friend.

 

Highlander- The Highlander will be back for September! If you have any articles or things you’d like put in, please get them to Phil by the 26th. Thank you!

 

Early Dinner– We’re going to Tillies tonight. Let Karen know if you have any questions or would like to join!

 

Fall Fest– Keep October 18th available! Jess, Phil, and Pastor Adam will be looking for volunteers to help shine a light to the rest of the community! A sign up sheet for volunteers will be out by the end of the month.

 

LABOR DAY- The office will be closed on 9/1 in observation of Labor Day, if you need Phil he’s still reachable by e-mail.
